Lummi Island: Living the Good Life

Please visit Fund Beach School for updates on the funding drive for
Lummi Island’s Beach Elementary School

What does living the good life on Lummi Island look and feel like? What are the up and downsides of living here?  This site offers glimpses into what it’s like to live on Lummi Island, at least for one person.

The site focuses on the Lummi Island community, in the broadest sense of the term: plants, animals, insects, soil, water, air, birds, sea creatures and — oh yes — humans.  For better or for worse, we are both interdependent and individuals. Our joys, health, lives and deaths commingle as well as flow in separate streams.

  4. oh such beautiful photos. I love the snowy vistas, the snow laden trees are fabulous. It almost makes me long to play in the snow but I forget.. I’m now a lowlander where such temps make me shiver! Thanks for sharing the beauty, love Diane

  5. Nice October sunset!

  6. Those horses are my wife, Leslie and her sister Laura.

… any excuse to dress up!

Nice photo! Any more of the Great Race?

  7. Thanks, Tom. I doubt that the info is really essential, but I figured (since I write daily, anyway) I might as well ‘publish’ some of it, reviewer/critic-free. First time in my life I haven’t had to run every word through the multiple & sometimes harsh meshes of other lenses. But I’m at the stage of my life where simply having a good time is fine with me. I remember someone asking me once, “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?” Spent most of my life with the 1st answer, now the other seems appealing, at least some of the time.

  8. Your WordPress blog contributes essential and interesting information about our Island. You are promoting the spirit of sharing and networking through the Internet that has thrived for many years here on Lummi Island, before the Digital Age. Congratulations!
